VERY FINE NATHAN STARR U.S. MODEL 1808 or 1816 SOCKET BAYONET FOR FLINTLOCK MUSKET. 18 7/8" overall with 15 1/2" triangular blade. All edges sharpened during period of use. Crisply and deeply struck "U.S." over "N.S.". Also small "A.H." inspector's mark on one side of elbow and "1B2" above the mortise. Socket is just shy of 3". Deep fuller extends almost to the tip save 1/2". 100% original patina and no areas of salt and peppering or pits.
