Description:
#3578 Remington Rolling Block Presentation Rifle, Buffalo City Coast Guard
This is a very unusual Remington Rifle presented to First Sergeant Daniel N. Milley by General Adrian R. Root Commanding D Co Buffalo City Guard April 30th 1883 as an acknowledgment of faithful service April 30 1883. This oval plaque is on the right side and on the left side is a small plaque that reads Semper Paratus; which is Latin for Always Ready. The rifle had been nickel-plated and retains 65% original nickel finish. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight. The bore is about very good with strong rifling, bright and shinny. The wood is very good without any chips or cracks. This is a very unusual rifle and should be researched further.
I would consider trades for pre 1899 ANTIQUE PISTOLS and rifles on any of my items.. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO TRADE? Ask about our 30-90 day lay-away program. We accept Bank Check, Money order, Personal checks or wire transfer.
