Description:
Serial #113961, .22 RF, 3 1/8? barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This little-used revolver has matching assembly numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel, and retains about 85-90% of the original bright nickel finish with most of the loss occurring in the cylinder flutes which have a mottled dark plum-brown patina. There some small spots of freckling and a few minor flaked areas, heaviest at the muzzle, while the hammer has muted original color case-hardening still visible with the balance either a mottled dark gray color or worn bright. The rosewood grips (numbered to the gun on the interior) are in very good shape but do have numerous handling marks and blemishes on either side of the butt (heaviest on the left panel). The barrel lock-up is solid with just a hint of lateral play and the mechanism functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in a period wooden box that has been modified for the gun and houses: a brass cleaning rod, small japanned metal box, and an empty period Winchester .22 Short cartridge box. This is a neat little ensemble and would make a great addition to any collection. Antique
