Description:
LAST CHANCE

This is an Antique Peabody Rifle which was made by the Providence Tool Co. Wood has a few light dings. Barrel has a deep brown patina, and a bright & shinny bore with minimum pitting. Receiver maintains a good 70% plus of it's original case color. Other than a handful of pot marks on the wood, the only other minor problem with this rifle is that the stock has been expertly repaired.

Gun is marked on receiver "PEABODY'S PAT / JULY 22. 1862 / MAN'F'D BY / PROVIDENCE TOOL CO. / PROV. R.I.". Near the receive, in the stock it is marked with a small inspector's cartouche with "W.C." Also, underneath the forearm on both barrel and receiver, it is marked with serial number "54049".

Barrel Length - 33 inches
Overall Length - 51 & 3/4 inches
Weight - 9 lbs. 2 oz.
Chamber - believe to be .433 Peabody.

From what we can find, .433 Peabody is slightly larger than .43 Spanish.
