Description:
This interesting adjustable powder measure is double stamped "Gold Dust Smokeless Powder Co" at top. This unusual measure is graduated in "Grains" (30-60) and was intended for use with only God Dust Powder. This was a product of the United States Powder Co of San Francisco, CA, founded in 1890 and closed in 1898 after the factory exploded. Measure is nickel plated with dark walnut handle. Nickel shows a nice aged color with a few flecks of loss, handle shows light wear. An interesting measure from the beginning of smokeless shotshell reloading.
