Description:
According to 'Golforth's' Iver Johnson book all 6inch barreled revolvers of this time period were special order; and are scarce. The markings of D U R over 165 would indicate a special order for some agency ,or company. Can anyone tell me what the markings mean? And the condition of revolver also suggest that.As internals are almost unused ----  barrel bore and chambers near mint, and mechanical nice and tight. This model has the sure lockup of cylinder and the famous " Hammer to Hammer' safety. It has lots of the original blue finish with some browning on left side area and backstrap. Also some wearing on cylinder and muzzel end from sliding into a holster? The caliber is .38 S&W and it was made in 1915 when Iver Johnson used a coil mainsring and made completely for smokeless powder.  Sale PENDING
