#4L 27198, Browning Safari Grade 35 Whelen That Became a Custom by J. W. "Bill" Hall from Abilene, Texas, FN Mauser Action with their Long Extractor, Built by Browning in 1964 as a 30-06, The 22" factory barrel was then rebored by Jesse Ocumpaugh in Oregon to a 35 caliber and rechambered to a 35 Whelen, It is a very accurate rifle, Hall installed a barrel sling eye, Front ramp but the rear sight removed, Browning trigger, Sliding Browning safety, The magazine box and hinged floorplate is steel and of a FN style or type, 1 piece scope base, Leupold 2 x 7, The stock with wrap around Fleur-de-lis checkering, Steel grip cap, Shadowline cheekpiece, 2 screw tiedown rear sling eye, A very nice piece of wood, 13 5/8" LOP over a Niedner checkered steel buttplate, 8 Lbs. 6 oz., The bore is excellent, On the bottom of the stock in 2 different places it has a distinct diamond with an H. Bill Hall advertised Diamond Quality and stated Custom Gun Stocks, Custom Checkering & Refinishing. He was at 341 Ross Ave. in Abilene. I have a target shot with 250 grain Hornady soft points with 52 grains of Reloader 15 and a 3 shot group into 9/16" at 100 yards.
