Ltd., 9 Golden Square, Regent Street London, W. 1. : A Superb Back Action Sidelock Ejector Jeffery in 450/400 3" Nitro Express Double Rifle Made in August of 1939, With 24" Ejector Chopper Lump Barrels, Dolls Head Extension with a third bite, 1/4 rib with 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Fold-up night sight with the original Ivory bead, Carved fences, Double triggers, Bushed strikers, Shadowline cheekpiece with a carved edge, Trapdoor grip cap that is fully engraved, Sling eyes, 14 3/4" LOP over a 5/8" leather pad that is removable, It will go 15 3/16" with a 1" pad, The proper and correct 450/400 weight of 9 lbs. 15 oz., 95% engraving coverage of very nice scroll engraving, The barrels have been reblacked and now remain at 99%, This superb piece has 50% original case colors, Very nice wood that remains as solid as it was 75 years ago with great finish at 96%, The checkering remains at 96%, The bores are excellent plus, The whole is cased in the original leather trunk with the correct trade label. This is nice stuff here in a very hard to find Best Sidelock Jeffery double rifle. ///////////////////////// Most all Jeffery double rifles that one encounters has the early 13 King Street address, they moved from 26 Bury Street to 9 Golden Square (The address of this gun) in 1921. The Jeffery firm remained in business until 1955, in 1957 Westley Richards purchased the firm and then in 1959 it was merged with Holland & Holland.
