Description:
A color-full Brown Bess with a 39" rpund barrel with English proofs, and a a lock-plate the the Tower behind the cock but the crown with GR is absent, possibly removed for American use . This is a New England found estate gun and the action works good. Has iron furniture, brass thimbles,and an iron ram-rod, and sling swivels. Fron sight is a correct block for a bayonet use. The wood is Continental hardwood and this gun may well be a contract gun made for the English by a Belgium maker which was common as England couldn't produce hand made guns fast enough for it's expansion!The frizzen spring has an old repair and works well. the wood has a couple age splits but nothing going all the way through the gun. We don’t have asite .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in. If you can only pay with a card let me know.
