Description:
-Westley Richards Model 1897 Single Shot rifle .Chambered in .375 2-1/2" Nitro Express. Barrel is 28" -ith express rear sight which has one standing and two folding blades. All sight blades have platinum center line for quick target acquisition . Island sytle front sight with barrel mounted sling swivel stud. Top of barrel is marked Westley Richards & Co. London and Westley Richards High Velocity Nitro Express Rifle .375 Bore. The rifle is proofed for 40 grains of Cordite and a 270 grain bullet. Bore is very good to excellent with strong rifling from end to end. Dog leg action lever with side mounted safety. Beautiful walnut stock with steel butt plate and trap door, sling swivel stud and horn grip cap. 14 -3/8" length of pull. Low 35,000 serial number range. Rifle weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces.
