Description:
Winchester pre-64 model 70 Alaskan .338 Win Mag. Made in 1960 this is a very nice model 70 in a very desirable caliber. The barrel blue and the action retain 97-97% original finishes with sharp/crisp edges and lettering. The bolt and the extractor have been “jeweled” for smooth functioning and the bore is perfect on the 25” barrel. The wood finish appears original but upon close inspection it was professionally refinished some years ago. Original/factory solid red Winchester pad is in place and all wood to metal dimensions are correct…In other words there was no apparent sanding of the wood when the stock was refinished! This is a fine Alaskan and will make a nice addition to a collection and/or a fantastic big game rifle. Ideal for moose, elk, bear and large African plains game. Weighs: 7 lbs. 14 oz.
