NOTE: MY PICTURES DON'T DO THIS KNIFE JUSTICE. IT IS MUCH BRIGHTER THAN IT APPEARS .A beautiful Hunting (Bowie type) knife with a blood groove and STAG handle. The blade is 4 1/2" long and the overall length is 6 1/4". It is well marked with " Sabre, Solingen # 124 " on one side of the blade (near the handle) and " American Knife Co., Germany" on the other side . The blade and grip are in excellent condition with a few minor dings in the metal at the top of the grip. The blade is sharp with no chips, rust or staining. The pictures don't do it justice.
The leather sheath is also in excellent condition (almost looks new) with just a few very minor marks. It is stamped "49ers" (see picture).. It has a snap strap retainer.
I have owned this knife for about 50 years, and it is older than that. A quality, well made piece.
