Description:
Offered for your consideration is this vintage 1894 Winchester saddle ring carbine in the hard to find 32-40 caliber. Made in 1926 it has all of the correct carbine features; 20 inch barrel with post and a period Marbles gold bead blade front sight. The rear is the #44A Winchester carbine sight often called the ladder style. The rear sight is complete and the elevation slide works smoothly and stays in place when adjusted. The bore has some frosting but it is very accurate. Take a look at the target photo, I fired 3 shots into 3/4" at 40 yards and that's great accuracy in my book! Load was Speer Hot Core 170 grain JSP and IMR3031 powder. Barrel and magazine retain 70%+ blue with scattered areas of wear. The receiver is mechanically excellent and feeds, chambers, fires and ejects smoothly. The headspace is perfect. Faint traces of blue remain in protected areas but mostly a nice silver/plum patina. The stock and forearm are walnut and both are tight and solid. The wood is flush+ around the tangs and receiver. The wood has not been sanded. The only flaw I see is a small sliver missing on the upper left tang, not bad and can be repaired if needed. Overall this carbine is in fine condition and will be a nice addition to your collection not to mention a surperb caliber for deer hunting this fall. The 32-40 is one of the harder calibers to find!

Shoot me an email if you need additional information or photos.

Insured UPS to your C&R or FFL is $40.00
