It is an early, serial number 2900, 1880's large frame Smith & Wesson New Model Number 3 Double Action .44 western big bore that was cut down to a 2 1/2" barrel and re-nickeled back during its time on the frontier. it sports some really sharp original pearl grips. Nice bore. Locks up and alaigns like a new gun. Comes in an original border tooled shoulder holster of the same period. This belly gun would be a formidable weapon even today. What a great gunfighter look that should be a good shooter as well. They never over polished the gun and edges are crisp while gun retains at least 90% of the vintage nickel finish. Works double action only.
