Description: Serial #76021, .45 ACP/Auto Rim, 5 1/2? barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a U.S. property marked revolver that retains 75-80% of the original blue finish that has silvered at the muzzle, in spots along the frame, and has a fairly bright turn-ring on the cylinder. The hammer and trigger retain a good portion of their original bright color case-hardening with some very mild fading along the edges and matching numbers are present on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and ejector. A spot of lightly cleaned pinprick pitting is present on the left side of the frame where it meets the barrel. The smooth walnut grips are correct but not original to the gun and have a previous owner's name scratched on the inside: ?R.O. YODER?. The condition is very good with only several small handling marks and blemishes in the added oil finish, wear around the butt, and some faint letters scratched into the roundels at the top of each panel: ?B? and ?M?. The lanyard swivel is a correct replacement and the original U.S. markings have been scrubbed from the strap. Mechanically, the lock-up is still tight and the action functions flawlessly. This is a well-used example of a World War I Model 1917 but would still make a fine shooter and still rates good plus-very good overall.
