Marlin model 1895 38-56 lever Action Rifle
This is a Marlin Model 1895 Lever Action Rifle in 38-55 caliber. The serial number is 185285 indicating manufacture in 1899. It has an 28 inch Octagonal Barrel with full magazine. The rifle is the specified 38-56 and comes with the Marlin serpentine grip stock. A very high percentage of the original blue finish on the barrel and magazine tube remains. The lever, hammer, and buttplate have lost their original case colors except in hidden areas but have a nice patina. The action is smooth and tight and functions perfectly. It is estimated that slightly over 20,000 were produced in the heavy calibers. The 38-56 caliber model 1895 are not often seen. The buttstock clearly has a highly figured stock which appears to have been recently refinished but does not have any splits, repairs or cracks. The bore has strong rifling and the action functions perfectly. The LOP is 13 1/4" over what appears to be a replacement butt plate. This would be a great addition to any Marlin collection. A signed FFL or C&R license is required for transfer. $49.00 shipping with insurance to be paid by buyer.
