Winchester 1866 Flat Side Saddle Ring Carbine. Very early Winchester 1866. Made in 1866. Serial number 13110. Extremely early gun! Smooth gray patina on barrel. Henry marking still legible. Frame has a nice smooth mustard colored patina. Small repairs have been made to side plates and frame. Gun is all matching on the frame, stock and buttplate. Wood is very fine. Gun works perfectly. Bore has strong rifling with typical pitting. These early guns were called flat sides due to the flat loading gate and the frame is flat where it meets the forearms opposed to the later models where there is a contour. Very nice attractive example of a very early Winchester 1866!
