Description:
Sharps new model 1863 carbine. .52 caliber carbine converted to cartridge, made somewhere around 1863-1864. Nice original example of a very popular military carbine. Traces of original case colors are visible on the frame. All metal markings and wood cartouche are visible. Early version as noted by serial number and by the patche compartment in the buttstock. Very fine, bright bore, mechanically quite sound and overall antique very good to fine. This is a great example of the post Civil War era military carbine
