SOLD / On Hold / Pending Funds / Subcaliber Mortar Trainer Device 3-F-8, serial # 9xx. This National Guard Trainer was manufactured by Dellenbarger Machine Co. Inc. of New York, N.Y. The device is housed in an olive drab wood box measuring 30 3/4” x 9 1/2” x 3 15/16” with a unit rack number of B 148 stenciled on the lid and the original equipment identification plate is still attached. The box retains about 90% painted finish with light wear to the paint on the edges from handling. The blue steel subcaliber mortar tube is 26 3/4” long with an outside diameter of 1.256” and a bore diameter of 1.01”. The smooth bore is in excellent condition and the tube retains about 95% blue finish with some light wear marks, especially toward the ends. The tube has a removable striking anvil set into its base and three collars are provided to center the tube in 60mm, 81mm and 4.2” mortar tubes. Also provided are an Allen wrench, O ring, two split rings, 1” bore brush with pull through chain, spare tail fin and special tool for mounting in the larger 4.2” mortar. (20) 6” long blue steel subcaliber projectiles are provided that consist of eight separate parts each. They generally break down into four major parts for loading: tail assembly, body with inertia and fixed firing pin, gas regulator and projectiles head. In use, a 22 caliber propellant round is placed in the base and second 22 cal. short blank marking round placed in the nose. A box of Winchester 22 cal. propellant blanks with 38 remaining is included. This is very unique military collectible. A reprint Military catalog is included as it explains the subcaliber kit in easy to understand terms, overall condition of this unit is very good plus.    Inv.: # US 2820
