Description:
Tons of fancy tasteful engraving on this strong little 16 by Francotte of Belgium. Gun has auto-safety with gold fill, side clips, Greener crossbolt, and double underlugs. Action is scalloped, both on the sides and at top, very nicely engraved with bold oak leaves on the balls and fine scrollwork on balance of action, first inch of bbls, and trigger bow. Gun is very tight with very nice rust blue refinish to both metal and wood. Bbls are 27.5"x 65mm(2.5") nitro proof measuring L664/644 (IM) and R 664/655 (IC) with bright bores with patches of minor pitting ahead of chambers. Rib is engraved with a blank ahead of chambers that once had an inscription, since removed. Possibly VL&D or other distributor's name. The name "G Goeury- Nancy" is engraved on the bottom plate, probably the French retailer's name. POW pistol grip stock is in excellent shape with good grain, barred near the butt.
