Description:
I believe this to be a pre-war barrel, but I'm not an expert on these barrels. The serial number reads B56403. It is 12 gauge, 2 3/4" chamber. Made in Belgium, with Belgium proof marks. Raised matt ventilated rib. It measures 26 5/8" long on the blued part of the barrel and 30 1/4" overall. It has two stars to designate a modified choke and measures .729" bore with a .015" choke restriction. The barrel is in excellent condition with a bright shiny bore. Bluing is near excellent showing light wear only under the forearm. The receiver section has a few dark patches on it, but nothing you can feel...no pitting. I received this from the original owner's son so the dating would make sense as the father was born in 1912.
