General Specs: Emil Flues of Buffalo, NY, Year 1920's, 16 Gauge, 7lbs 6oz, Over & Under Serial Number: 35 Engraved by the world renowned RUDOLPH KORNBRATH with deep relief engraving, solid rib, 16 gauge barrels with no center rib, double triggers, and serial number 35, this is a collector/shooter's dream. A solid and interesting gun with a Kirsten cross bolt system and nicely balanced, she will make a very interesting and beautiful gun for your upland and clays pursuits. Emil Flues was a gunmaker, inventor, and patent holder of firearms. He was an outside contractor with Ithaca Gun Co., later having his own shop in Buffalo, NY. The Ithaca Flues Model double shotgun was his name sake and Ithaca’s most successful shotgun, selling over 230,000 before the NID came into production. This is an interesting gun. First, it had to be one of America's first over/under guns. The Browning Superposed and Remington 32 are known to be the earliest production O/U's, not coming to market until the 1930's. Mr. Flues was ahead of his time, and this is a very collectible, shootable piece of Americana with a very affordable price.
