Tight smooth action with some thin traces of case color on the frame and a plum brown patina on the barrel. The buttstock has a few serious bumps just behind the hammer (see photos), but otherwise it has good wood and has a dimly visible DFC (David F. Clark) inspectors acceptance cartouche in the center of the stock left side. Even though these early conversion Sharps carbines used the larger bore percussion barrel, they shot just fine when loaded with the 50/70CF cartridge.
