Wonderfully engraved Winchester Model 1886 45-70 (big hole), 26" bbl, 13 1/2" LOP. Original manufacture 1891. New since custom engrave and restoration. Engraving by Master Engraver Joseph, who honed his skills working under some of Winchesters best engravers, including Kusmit and Urlich.Signed simply Joseph on left, and Joseph Engr on right. Joseph, an artist by trade desided early in his career that he wanted to try his hand at custom rifle engraving. He preffered working on Model 1886 and the like as he felt it offered him a "bigger canvas"! Excellent, beautiful engraving job, and restoration! 2 of Josephs works recently sold at for $15m+, this is a steal!
