Description:
While this specimen is in a "Carbine" configeration, we believe that it is actually a modified rifle with the barrel cut down and restocked. Carbines did not have a sling swivel loop on the trigger guard as this one does and the rear sight appears to be as that from a rifle. The stock could very well be a stock from a carbine as it does not have the modifications that would be necessary to convert a rifle stock into a carbine stock. Carbines had a solid crescent steel butplate as this one does while rifles had a trapdoor buttplate.
