When the Bushmaster Carbon 15 made its debut in 2006, many of us were highly skeptical as to whether a polymer AR15 lower receiver would hold up. After 7 years, we are fully convinced. Out of three hundred some odd Carbon 15s we’ve sold from our little store, we have only returned one, and its receiver was just fine. Here is American Tactical’s polymer lower receiver for AR-15. Manufacturer is American Tactical Imports of Rochester, New York, and this lower is made in the U.S. Model is Omni, multi caliber and advertised as such. Construction is weapons grade fiber filled black polymer. It is fully threaded and inletted to military specifications. Factory product flyer warns against non-mil-spec parts, and recommends chambering in .22 LR or .223 Remington calibers only.
