This is a nib ENGRAVER'S Proof John Wayne 9422 22LR Trapper prototype . Page 178,179 in the Tom Trolard Book. 16 1/2" barrel. This is what we believe to be only one of 6 22 LR in the world to exist...only one resides outside of the U.S. ..... With the untimely passing of Micheal Wayne this Trapper never went into production. This is unique as it would have been the first 9422 with a big loop lever. Gold JW medallion in the stock. The colorful scenes on both sides of the receiver are from scenes of "The Cowboy". The barrel is etched with JW's signature and "the American Cowboy" in gold . The receiver, big loop, barrel bands, saddle ring,front and rear sights are gold plated. Trigger and hammer are plated in nickel.
