Description:
Serial #852048, .38/200, 5" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a small amount of mild freckling towards the breech. This is a �D^D� marked Australian revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, extractor, yoke, and barrel with the metal retaining 97% of an armory added phosphate finish that has silvered slightly along the exposed edges and projections. The revolver was arsenal reconditioned in 1954 ("FTR/54" on right side of frame) and the trigger and hammer retain traces of the original color case-hardening with the balance turned to a dull pewter gray patina. A small import stamp is present on the left side under the cylinder. The correct walnut grips are numbered to a different gun with minor handling marks in the military oil finish on both panels and a small �D� stamp on the butt on the right side. Australian marked S&W's are not commonly seen in the U.S. in any condition and this example rates fine condition overall FFL or C&R
