Description: ALLEN & WHEELOCK SIDEHAMMER NAVY REVOLVER: 36 Caliber Percussion, Large Frame, 6 shot, with THE SCARCE 7 3/4" Octagon barrel. Most collectors acknowledge this ALLEN , as a U.S. MARTIAL Percussion Revolver of the American Civil War. Many of these ended up in the hands of Union soldiers during the Civil War. Condition: Standard Model, the pistol functions extremely well... times and indexes perfectly. The cylinder rotates when the hammer is cocked and the trigger functions as it should. The half-cock notch also works correctly. The pistol is Mechanically Excellent. The Loading Lever functions correctly and smoothly,,, and operates exactly as it should. All of the SIX cones (nipples) appear Original and they are in Excellent, condition as well. The walnut grips rate about GOOD with very light scratches and mars.. The revolver has a PLUMB finish throughout, with scattered areas of minor peppering and pinpricking present on the entire revolver. Left side plate has an old repair. The cylinder and triggerguard --loading lever have a similar matching patina.. most of the CYLINDER SCENE IS PRESENT . The hammer has a similar dark patina ...USUAL light readable Markings.
