Description:
S# 10815, 6mm Lee Navy, 28 inch barrel, bright excellent bore. This rifle conforms to first contract U.S. Navy specs but is not USN or inspector marked on receiver ring. This rifle was built in April 1898 and shipped on April 22, 1898 tro order #6921. Rifle remains in excellent condition retaining 75% blue with most loss on barrel and rear band. Wood is very good with typical dings and dents. A two inch sliver is missing from handguard on left rear, a small sliver is also missing on left by bolt release. A small number of military style rifles in the 10,000 to 15,000 serial range were sold to the public prior to the design of the Lee Sporter stock. This fine piece is a relatively uncommon variation of the famous Lee Navy Rifle. Antique
