Description:
- Stevens Model 1894 Favorite Rifle
- .25 Stevens Rimfire Caliber
- 22" Half Octagon, Half Round Barrel (Octagon portion is only 5 sided.... portion of barrel under forend is round)
- Serial Number G308 (from most sources, this is no indication of mfg. date)
- Condition: Antique, Excellent. Most features of rifle are considered to be of "Early" mfg. Lower Tang is a full 1/4" longer than either of listed lengths in reference articles I could find. And, the shorter length in the articles was determined to be the later mfg. Firing pin, though is radiused, not chisel point, which is considered to be a later development..... easily might have been replaced at some point, as both used same dimension opening in bolt. Butt plate original, unbroken. Elavator sight possibly a replacement. Bore is somewhat dark, as would be expected, but clean, with slightly uneven surface. Lands still fine. Metal and butt appear to have been "Cleaned", at some point in distant past, along with buttstock. Metal is NOT proud on butt, though. Hard rubber buttplate moderately worn, but not cracked. All in all, a very nice early production "Favorite".
