Great bore and action. Metal is very good overall with sharp lettering and markings - barrel retains 90% + blue - magazine tube has 90% + blue with slight thinning. Receiver and hammer retain 90% bright case color – butt plate has drifted to about 85%. Left side of receiver has lightly etched social security# that can be removed professionally. Wood is very good and showing only a few dings and light surface marks from normal handling, with the exception of a thin sliver of wood missing between rear sling mount and shoulder butt plate, and retains 80% of its' original finish. A very sharp and well maintained 116 year old Marlin 1893 is all original (except added sling) and in very good condition in a great caliber. An outstanding shooter, collectible, and investment!
