Description:
THIS IS A CUSTOM SPORTING RIFLE, UTILIZING A MAUSER TYPE 98 ACTION. IT IS CHAMBERED FOR THE 30-06 SPRINGFIELD CARTRIDGE. THE BARREL IS 23 1/2" LONG AND EXHIBITS A FINE BRIGHT BORE WITH NO EVIDENCE OF EROSION. THE LENGTH OF PULL IS 14" FROM THE FRONT TRIGGER TO THE END OF THE BUTT PLATE. WEIGHS JUST 8 1/4 POUNDS. THE FULL LENGTH MANNLICHER STYLE STOCK WAS CREATED FROM A NICELY FIGURED TIGER STRIPPED WALNUT BLANK. THERE IS FINE CHECKERING PRESENT AT THE WRIST AND FOREND. VERY FINE SATIN WOOD FINISH AND PROFESSIONAL METAL BLUING COMPLEMENT THIS FINE PRE WAR PERIOD SPORTING RIFLE. THE REAR SIGHT IS AN EARLY MODEL, LYMAN SECOND VARIATION, 48M FROM THE 1920'S. THE FRONT SIGHT IS A FINE LYMAN GOLD BEAD. THE ADJUSTABLE DOUBLE SET TRIGGERS FUNCTION WONDERFULLY EITHER FROM THE SET OR UNSET POSITION. NOTE THE CUSTOM SPOON BOLT HANDLE AND THE CARBINE STYLE FRONT SLING LOOP. CARTRIDGES FEED AND EJECT WITH EASE FROM THIS FINELY FINISHED RIFLE. DO NOT KNOW THE AGE OF THIS FINE RIFLE NOR WHO DID THE CUSTOM WORK, BUT IT IS FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY. OVERALL VERY FINE CONDITON WITH NO ISSUES. HAS BEEN HEAD SPACED AND FOUND TO BE WITHIN SAFE SHOOTING TOLERENCES. SHIP TO FFL OR C&R. SOME GUIDELINES: All cartridge firing firearms must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer in your state. Buyer to supply a signed copy of local dealer’s license before shipment will be made. A C&R License is acceptable for C&R firearms, (guns determined to be C&R’s by ATF and/or guns known to be at least 50 years old). Antique firearms and replicas require buyer to supply proof of age.
