Description:
SOLD... Good ole antique 1894 Winchester rifle. S/N is 119191 and made in very early 1898 or very late 1897.. Caliber is in the hard to find and excellent shooting 25-35. Has the standard 26" octagon barrel. Has a very fine bore. Very strong and sharp rifling with just minor frosting. NO pitting, rings or bulges. Mechanics are excellent. Feeds, fires and ejects flawlessly. It shoots great and very accurate with factory ammo and would probably shoot even better with a careful custom hand load if desired. The book calls for a premium in this caliber. The metal is an over all medium gray finish. It does show a area of pitting on the left side of the barrel that extends over on to the mag tube. Probably from a bloody hand or just poor storage. Also a spot on the left side of the receiver and forearm cap. All is on the left side. The barrel area being the worst but nothing too bad to detract much from the gun. NO pitting at all on the right side of the gun. The markings are excellent. Has the express 3 leaf rear sight what looks like a modified center leaf. Original front sight also. The screws are very nice and not all burred up. The wood is pretty nice as well. Shows honest bumps, dings and scratches but NO splits or cracks and the fit to the metal is excellent. Very tight fitting.. The butt stock still showing about 30% or so original varnish. Here is a very honest and never messed with antique 94 with a great bore. Antique 94's are getting pretty hard to find any more at reasonable prices. These do not last long so call me at 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. I can send photos of the pitting or anything else you might want to see closer. I have it priced with this in mind and I do not think you will be disappointed in this one at all. $50 insured shipping. Antique so NO FFL needed.
