Description:
This double rifle by John Smith of Sacramento CA is a wonderful .40 caliber, set trigger, patch box and cap box, lollipop tang sight, adjustable rear sight and name plate. The barrels are 32" with very nice bores. You can see the cap flash pitts by the nipples. The original finish has turned to a nice brown patina. Back action locks shown nice engraving. Set triggers work nicely. John Smith was a California gun maker 1850-1855 during the California Gold Rush era.
