Description:
This example,  serial number 104453, was mfg in 1863, in time for service at Gettysburg.  It is in excellent all original condition as follows . The barrel is a clean, smooth blue turning soft plum color with fine barrel address.  The frame has darkened with traces of original case colors. Brass is untouched and never cleaned or polished. The cylinder has a nice visible cylinder scene with a nice blue/plum finish, again with no pitting and nice original nipples.  Stocks are excellent with most of the original varnish  The butt is cut for a stock as is the frame.  There are two holes in bottom of grips, probably for a make shift ring. There are still some soft case colors on lever.  Bore is strong and clean and gun locks up perfectly.  It is standard in all respects with 8" barrel and .44 caliber and all the small parts have the martial inspector initials.
