Description:
Offered is a lovely Merwin and Hulbert large frame .44-40 open top big western belt holster pistol.  It sports the standard 7" barrel with genuine pearl saw handle grips, scoop flutes and open top. It has fine full coverage factory engraving with combination of scroll and s with Mexican Eagle on left panel and grouse on the right pantel.  I would say that the gun retains at least 80% original factory nickel and those areas that no longer show nickel as clean smooth gun metal and blend well enough to give the gun that 95% appearance. Action works and locks up tight. Bore is strong with some frosting. Grips are excellent with few minor chips.  Traces of case on hammer and guard.  Antiuqe early 1880's fancy grade cowboy pistol in 44-40 Winchester caliber.  Antique  Serial #5678
