This is a very fine example of a Winchester Model 1886 manufactured in 1887, second year of production. The receiver and barrel have an aged patina that adds character to this gun. The stock has a professional repair just behind the lever where it appears to cover a swivel cut into the wood. It is done so well it does not detract from the rifles character or appearance.
Chambered in the rare 40-82, this hard hitting rifle could have been very effective in hunting buffalo and or other big game animals. This is the type of firearm that could be passed down from generation to generation and displayed proudly on the wall.
A handfull of original 40-82 rounds are included with a purchase.
