Description:
An Enfield M. 1853 mark II** rifle dated 1868 in caliber .577 . This is a 3 band long rifle with 36 3/4" barrel. The chamber is recessed for the cartridge rim. The brass buttplate shows 78 over 38 markings and the hammer has a flat face with the rear barrel sight marked for 950 yards. The stock shows an Enfield cartouche over a large No. 1. No cleaning rod and fine cosmetic condition with the bright bore showing some pitting towards the muzzle. Antique.
