Description:
This is a Type 38 that features: a bayonet lug with 3 screw attachment, a dummy cleaning rod, front sight with no protective wings, and a solid, spring-retained middle band. The band swivel retains a piece of a fabric sling. The rifle is not serial numbered, the marking on the receiver is shown as number 5 on page 174 in "Military Rifles of Japan". The marking translation is "Nippon Special Steel." Slotted for a dust cover with a knurled safety knob with groove, one piece stock and flat forged steel butt plate. A school mark is branded into the right stock, the sight is graduated to 1700 meters. Fair, dirty, smooth bore. FFL or C&R
