Up for sale is a very nice Remington 572 22 Long Rifle Shot Shell Rutledge smooth bore rifle. Is it a rifle or a shotgun?? It has no serial number visible and a metal magazine tube plunger which dates it pre-1968. Thanks to a fellow guns international member I was able to look up the stamped codes on the left side of the barrel which puts is birth date as March 1963. I've seen a few of these guns around but none as nice as this one. It has a few dings on the wood but the metal is very nice, including the aluminum receiver. There is a pair of faint rub marks on the side of the receiver near the E and M in Remington. You may be able to see them in the picture if you look closely. There is also a small mark on the underside of the aluminum trigger guard. I tried to take good pictures but I'm not the most talented photographer.
