Of the 1905 colt 45's made only 440 have the slotted handle for the slotted holster stock. There were only a total of about 6100 1905 's manufactured. These historical Colts lead the way to the 1911. This was manufacture approximately 1907. It has some bluing in the protected areas. The surface is very smooth with the gray patina. The grips have no chips or cracks and have consistent wear to the rest of this colt. This colt is for the advanced collection. this may be your only chance to own one of these rare pieces of history. This colt is featured twice in William H. D Goddard's book The government models (the development of the colt model of 1911. Page 223.
