Called the banner Mauser because it bears the Mauser banner trade-mark. It was made officially for the Deutsche Reichsport (German Postal Service), but many rifles were furnished to organizations of the Nazi party. There is documentation that many of these Reichsbahn rifles were actually used to arm the SS troops that oversaw the rail transport of those unfortunate souls deemed undesirable to the Nazi resigm. The quality of finish and bluing was in keeping with high commerial standards thus much better than military finish. Unmarked bayonets, to keep Germany's efforts to rearm in violation of the Treaty Germany was forced to sign after the First World War, were provided with each mauser. Bore is like new, bright and shiney. This Mauser comes with original sling and bayonet. An all matching gun. SOLD |
