#52066, Gebruder Merkel, Suhl - Germany: An Older and Proper Suhl made Gebruder Merkel in 16 Bore Model 201E Luxus Made in 1960 on a Kersten Action with a Kersten top lock plus double underlugs, A Special Order Quality O/U Boxlock Game Gun with 28” Ejector Bohler Steel Solid Rib barrels, .665 .026 & .026" (Full & Full), Original 2 ¾” chambers, Double triggers with the front articulated, Scalloped frame, Cocking indicators, 3-piece forend, Pistol grip stock at 14 15/16 x 1 1/2 x 2 5/8” over a 1" pad, Cast-Off for the right hand, 6 Lbs. 7 Oz., Special order engraving with 7 Silver inlays plus 98% coverage of very nice floral engraving, Sling eyes, 97% original barrel blue, 90-92% original receiver blue, Original stock finish at 92%, The checkering at 98%, The bores are excellent plus and look exactly like they did in 1960. There is a small chip of wood out of the head of the stock at the receiver back. I have seen my share of Suhl Merkel Model 201's but this is the first with this style of engraving plus the Silver inlays. We got this gun from the original buyer in Germany and he ordered the special engraving.
