Description:
model 1842 springfield musket in overall verygood condition. Stock is sound and solid showing normal wear but not abused. Has J.C. carved on left side of stock but cartouche can not be seen. All metal parts are smooth with areas of light pitting. Lock plate dated 1851 but tang of barrel dated 1846, so likely one or the other were switched out at some point.
