Description:
.22 hornet, 26 inch barrel, bright excellent bore. This gun was built from 1938 to 1960 in Chicopee Falls and from 1961 to 1965 in Westford, this Chicopee Falls marked Rifle dates to the earlier period. Gun remains in very good condition with 80% case colors on frame showing some scattered light stains. Barrel retains 85% blue with some small areas of cleaned pitting on right side and scattered marks from use. Sights have been removed from barrel. Wood shows typical marks with small chips missing behind left side of receiver. A bushnell 4 power scope is mounted, scope has slightly hazy optics. This gun will keep five rounds inside one inch at 50 yards, it currently hits about 10 inches above point of aim. A classic American built hornet with a great bore that deserves better optics. Interesting to note that the barrel address shows a broken die that marked "AVAGE" clearly with no sign of the "S". FFL or C&R
