Description:
Serial #578, 25mm, 4 1/8? part round/part octagon barrel. This is a variant pistol, very similar to the Model 1917, but has a slightly different hammer profile and a pronounced knuckle on the rear of the frame which gives the gun a straighter grip. The brass has an overall mottled yellow-ochre patina and is nearly devoid of markings except for the serial number and a faintly visible ?V/(shallow arch)? stamp on the left side of the frame. The hammer, spur trigger, and lever have developed a mild brown patina mixing with light freckling. The checkered wooden grips are in fine shape and exhibit very little wear and only a few minor handling marks and blemishes. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. This is a neat brass frame flare pistol with an unusual frame shape and would make a neat addition to any collection. Antique
