Description:
NSN, .31 caliber, 3 1/2” ribbed barrel cluster with very good bores. This is a rare retailer marked, dog-leg gripped specimen that has an overall dark plum-brown patina with scattered spots of light freckling and small specks of pinprick pitting, mostly around the breech end of the barrels. The bar hammer is conspicuously marked on the left side with the retailer name: “W.G. BOLEN, NY”, and the Allen marking is present on the top surface of the bar. The walnut grips are in very good shape and have scattered minor blemishes and handling marks on both sides. The mechanism is tight and fully functional. These retailer marked pepperboxes are quite seldom seen and this example is in very good plus condition overall. Antique
