Description:
The saddle ring stud is missing on this carbine, serial No 84097 an early variation with squared bolt with the oblong cocking indicator. Buttstock has a carbine steel buttplate with a schnobel forend tip. It shows some fixed minor cracks and chipping at the tang and some holes filled. The receiver has a gray/brown finish with some blue remaining. The 20" barrel is import marked on the underside. The bore rates very good with light frosting. 85% blue remains on the barrel. The rear sight is a marble's style replacement. A scarce variation of the savage carbine series in 30-30 Winchester . This piece can be improved with the installation of a stud and ring and the removal of the sling studs. FFl or C&R
