Description:
This fine navy pistol has a large belt hook, fancy socket style breech plug, swivel mounted ramrod and many inspector's marks. The barrel is dated 1841 with "D" and "C" touchmarks. Lock screws are both stamped "A27" hammer screw marked "27" with Tulle marked lockplate. Buttcap has an anchor stamp. This pistol shows the 1849 arsenal modification of an added backstrap with tang and buttcap altered to fit. This pistol is in excellent condition with bright steel showing minor stains, lightly patented brass and wood showing marks from use. A fine example of this classic French pistol.
